Teak wood Book Chest

This teakwood book chest originated from Fujian and is approx. 80-100 years old. Teak wood is not native to China but in the past, teak wood were imported from Burma and Thailand into China for furniture production. This book chest has beautiful ribbed designs along the edges and around the door frames. The handles on both sides allow the book chest to be carried and stacked. This is the original colour and we had lightly sanded the surface to make it smooth to the touch.
